Fun Things To Do In The Comfort Of Your Home

Yeah, self-isolation isn't fun. We're getting stir crazy too. However, there are tons of fun activities to do within the comfort of your home while abiding by isolation laws around the world. It can be a Netflix binge to cooking up a storm, here are our fave fun at-home activities you can enjoy with your housemates and family.

Check them out below!

Have a movie marathon:
This one's pretty simple. Get your room, mates (or billy no mates!) and line up your fave flicks. Make some buttered salty popcorn and get watching! The cheesier, the better!

-----

Paint a masterpiece:
Get your creative juices flowing and bust out your boldest paint colours, trusty paint brushes and find some blank canvases and let your mind wander! Push boundaries and break the rules and let your imagination run wild.

-----

Netflix and chill:
So many brilliant series going around at the moment! You, The Crown season 3, 13 Reasons Why, House of Cards! We can't choose. Opt for the latest series or keep it old school with a classic film like Dirty Dancing.

-----

Afternoon tea for one:
So table for one? Update your daily tea and biccy routine by making it uber fancy! Pick up some fresh pastries and cakes from your local Woollies, find your fanciest of tea sets, call up your sisters, put on the kettle and pour yourself a cup of English Breakfast tea or Earl Grey. Oh, champagne afterwards is completely necessary to round it off!

-----

Turn your bedroom into a nail salon:
Click open a youtube tab and look up your fave or top trending nail artists to date! Find your fave colours and see if you have what it takes to recreate the tutorials. Warning: hilarity ensues.

-----

Have a spa night:
This is one for our introverts and all the Princesses who deserve it! We're talking about adding your fave fruity bath gel into the hot tub, putting on some calming ambience music, lighting soothing candles and layering on a skin brightening mask on your face. During these stressful times, the best things to do is to unwind and relax. Your mental health is just as important as your physical health.

-----

Polish off your UNO playing skills:
Uno isn't just a game. It's a rite of passage and a matter of pride to win. You'll be warding off the giggles, perfecting your poker face and playing the game like a pro in no time. Sometimes the most uncomplicated fun is the best.

-----

Turn your kitchen into a bar:
Channel your inner Tom Cruise with taking cocktail masterclasses in the comfort of your kitchen. Choose one recipe, your fave spirits and ingredients to keep the expenses (and the mess!) down. Sometimes relatively fruity cocktails and trendy drinks like mojitos and sangrias are more fun to make as you get to tailor the ingredient to suit your taste buds. It also means you don't have to use a cocktail shaker.

-----

Karaoke Nights:
Let out your inner Aretha Franklin and start belting your fave tunes with your sis and housemates! Whether it's after dinner or in the shower, a couple of drinks before your big concert will make you forget that your voice leans towards Rebecca Black than Ariana Grande. You'll be on the top of the pops in no time!

-----

Have an indoor picnic:
You and your love stuck indoors? Layout the prettiest quilts on your bedroom floor, surround yourself with all your plant babies and hang up the fairy lights. Set out freshly made sandwiches, your fave sugary snacks and other yummy goodies on beautifully presented plates. Treats like chocolate-covered strawberries teamed with mimosas will add to the atmosphere.

-----

Treasure hunt with the siblings:
Oh boy...have kids or younger siblings that need to keep occupied? Prepare your clues and hide them around the house. Each one should lead to the next, and the final should bring your little adventurer to the special prize of chocolate and lollies! No need to complicate things too much.

-----

Make your own version of the Great British Bake Off:
Grab the housemates and whip up some lovely home-baked goodies to share and nom during your arranged movie night after! Don't forget to have a few sips of champagne thrown into the mix.

-----

Write a fiction novel:
Don't let your creativity go stagnant! Find a blank notebook and your trusty pens and challenge yourself to write a short story, or better yet, an entire fiction novel! Push your boundaries and try writing in the style of your fave authors, or explore a genre you've never had the chance to read before.

-----

Catch up on some light reading:
You know all those brand new fiction novels that are currently collecting dust on your shelves? Time to snuggle up on the sofa with a steaming cup of cocoa, wrap yourself in a fluffy blanket and start reading. Use the time at home to broaden your mind and creativity again.

-----

Hang out and have a four-way Skype/Zoom/WhatsApp session.
Keeping you safe during these tense few months is our top priority. Unfortunately, it means minimising the number of weekend hangouts with your friends. Don't feel sad. If you have Skype or FaceTime, organise an hour or so where you and your girls can communicate. Technology is an amazing thing. Have a virtual chat. That should stave off the loneliness!

Stay safe loves and remember to smile!
