How To Make Your Own Soy Candles

The many benefits of soy candles make them an excellent choice for those looking for a natural candle option. For starters, soy candles are made from a renewable resource – soybeans! They also burn cleaner than traditional paraffin candles, producing less soot and no harmful chemicals. They are also known to last longer than conventional candles - so it's time to create your own! 
 

What You'll Need:

- Soy wax flakes
- Candle wicks
- Glass jars
- Double boiler
- Spoon
- Pencil
- Scissors
- Thermometer
- Fragrance oil (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Place soy wax flakes on the top of a double boiler.
  1. Fill the bottom of the double boiler with water and heat over medium heat.
  1. Stir the soy wax flakes until they are completely melted.
  1. Remove the melted wax from the heat and stir in the fragrance oil if desired.
  1. Cut the wicks to the desired length and tie a small knot at the bottom.
  1. Dip the wick in the melted wax and place it in the centre of the glass jar.
  1. Use a pencil to hold the wick in place.
  1. Pour the melted wax into the glass jar, careful not to splash any on the sides.
  1. Allow the wax to cool completely before trimming the wick.
