You've probably heard of the benefits of yoga from everyone who practices the discipline but we, like many of you, were skeptical of how truly beneficial the exercise is to our bodies and mental wellbeing. How good could a series of stretches and poses held for an extended period be? Our minds were opened after a session with our resident yogi, Nikki, and all hesitation to immerse ourselves in the disciple disappeared after the first pose.

First, what is yoga? It is more than a test of endurance and physical strength, it is about discipline, focus and above all, relaxation. You should never leave a session burdened but with a new found lightness. After a session you should be able to free yourself from everyday stresses and like a lotus, float above the negativity.

We urge you all to try it with an open mind and let it transform you.
All you need is a yoga mat (or an ordinary mat if one isn’t available to you), comfy clothing you can move around with ease in and a select few poses you can so safely do that do not place any necessary strain on your body. Remember to take deep breaths, inhaling light and positivity, and expel negativity with every exhale.
